Electrochemical Laboratory of the Department is well equipped with a variety
of electrochemical instruments. The research projects of the laboratory
are connected mostly to corrosion problems, including research and development
of corrosion inhibitors, thin protective layers, organic coatings, study
of passivity of metals and its breakdown.
A variety of electrochemical analysis techniques are available including potentiostatic, galvanostatic, potentiodynamic polarization methods, linear polarisation resistance (LPR), galvanic current, electrochemical noise (ECN), harmonic analysis, and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS), etc. The electrochemical equipments are combined also with a rotating disc electrode. |
